Color Blocks

This was my first attempt at color blocking, and it came out interestingly. Next time, I won't be shy with the top-coat- this one was still bumpy after a topper!

Colors: Nailite's Black, 246, 279, 237, and Nailene's 44304-05
The white Nailene on the far right was used along with a base coat.

And the plain left hand. I rather like these three together, they have a very sailor feel.

Green Clouds

I decided to try three shades of green for these clouds, which due to the color kind of look like bushes.

Colors: Unlabeled Green by Nailite, Spice Drop by Nailite, and Cha Cha Cha by China Glaze

After a base coat, I used Spice Drop, and you can see the color though the photo turned out a little blurry. This is one of my favorite greens I own, it goes on thin but the color after two or three shades is lovely.

These are nice and rather subtle, but all in all, I liked my brighter clouds better.

Comic Book Nails

To date, these are my favorite nails since my pikachu pokenails. I've wanted to do comic book nails since I saw Renee's, so I figured I'd take a shot at them!

Colors: China Glaze's Electric Pineapple, Zoya's Pippa, Lofes' 521,
and Wet n Wild's French White Creme

Started off with Lofes' 521 after the base coat, this is my slightly messier right hand.

Then I did a buffer of Electric Pineapple, so Pippa would get a little more depth,
and only need one coat.

All in all, I do like how these came out even if my hands were a little shaky for the tips. X)

Orange Puzzle Pieces

Click any image for the full version!
This is the second post of the 31 Nails Challenge. This was my first attempt at puzzle piece nails, and this is them without any top coat. I used too thick a brush for the black lines, and thus didn't anticipate wearing these for more than a day. Throughout the day I was amused by the amount of texture that ended up on my nails.

For colors I used: Nailite's 179, China Glaze's Papaya Punch, and Canmake Nail Polish's Black.

The main color, Papaya Punch, is really rather creamy and lovely.

The left hand was far less complex, and Nailite's 179 is on my ring finger.

Eh, could have been worse!

First Post of the 31 Posts Challenge

Click any of the images to see their full version!
This manicure is for the first challenge post- red nails. It was also my first attempt at drippy nails, and the drip polish I picked was a little too sheer for sharp curves required. The red is Revlon's 680, and the white is Nailite's 29.
For a simple bright red, I rather like this one. This is two coats over Nailite's base coat.
I'm pretty 'meh' about this mani. My pinkie came out really well, and I think that finger's cute... I just don't really care for the others. I left my right hand just with the red coat, and I actually prefer it to my left hand.

The Beginning

Once upon a time, I had a nail blog. Unfortunately I spaced on passwords, attached it to my not main email, and long story short, can no longer access it. So, starting over, this is the new blog and tumblr. (If you're curious about past nails I've done, those are all queued up for the tumblr, and will not be posted here.)

So, hopefully starting soon, I'll be doing the 31 day nail challenge.

Cheers,
Ella
